Feb 2008

Feb 2009

Happy late Valentines day! We got our boys a ballon and some treats for V-Day. We don't do much for Valentines day but the boys loved thier ballons!

Hudson and Grandpa doing thier pirate face! ARRR!

Do you notice were Hudson's leg went! We were trying to take family pictures and Hudson was so distracted( who my son distracted, pictures?) with this hole in the rock, we took a break and stuck his leg in it! He thought it was pretty cool!

The Girls! Oh I love that me and my Mom are best friends! We got along good while I was home but as soon as I moved out and had a family of my own we got even closer! I always appreciated all she did for me but I think I relized how much she really did when I had my own kids! I love you Mom thank you for all you did and still do! I also am close to my sister. We are eight years apart and when I was at home we were in completely different stages in life. Now she is 16 and we still aren't in the same stage but we sure love to hang out and of course we went shopping! Love you Beth!

Rinsing Remy of before we left the beach! We went and stayed the night in Vieques, which is a small island off Puerto Rico! It was beatuiful, it has really nice beaches with pretty blue water. The snorkling was alright, not as good as Culebra. We saw a sting ray and Trav saw a four foot baracuda. We found a lot of nice conck shells with creatures in them. I thought Culebra was prettier of the two islands.

Priceless!
Remy loved the beach chairs! He spent his time either playing in the sand and water or in the chair. He would sit and stand on it! I guess they were worth buying!

The reason we went and stayed in Vieques was to go and see the Bio Bay! It was so cool, this picture is from one of the websites that talk about it. It wasn't as bright as this but it was so worth the trip. The best way to discribe it would be that it was like the gatorade commericals were you see the color of their sweat on their bodies, the water would just glow as yous swam. My Mom chose not to get in and said it looked like we were all swimming in champange. Hudson thought it was so cool and loved the fact that he got to swim at night when it was dark.
We had to boil the conk shells to get the creatures out of them so we could keep the shells! I told Travis he would have to do this because they stink so bad and the smell of them made me so sick! We found out later that this is illegal in some states, like Florida. So I guess its good we are in PR. Anyways he boiled them in our kitchen, and yes I was clorox happy after!!! Here is Trav getting ready to eat it.....

He really did eat it. Brady and my dad also tried it...

.. and I didn't want to be left out! I have tried wild boar, a snail and what the heck why not a little conck! It wasn't to bad, a little rubbery. It is a delicacy in some places and really expensive.
It probably wouldn't taste so bad if it was cooked right and I didn't have to see what it looked like before and smell it cooking!
Here we are having a piece of chocalate with Parley so he didn't feel left out.( lucky him he was the only one not trying to get the taste out of his mouth)
The two brown and tan ones Travis found, we have never seen these kind before they are called King helment conck. I love how shiny they are.

Finished project!

Wow-those shells are awesome! I dont get what the blue water was-do they have lights in it, or is it just the color of the water?
